How We Do It How We Do It

As we enter the new scholastic year, the CHANCE TO LEARN Program is broadening its continuum of services to provide a safe learning atmosphere for children in Central America. With the addition of our new program, we can focus, this time on serving the needs of approximately 5,000 children from remote villages throughout the region and in the poorest barrios in major cities.

We seek out those communities that need support in developing educational programs, safe transportation, and full or partial student scholarships. CACEP supports those communities working to build schools and better the future of it's children.

Our Programs are aimed at breaking the cycle of pulling children out of school and forcing them into the work place at an early age…A Father and Mother should not have to choose between sending their child to work to support their family or receiving an education. Our aim is to make available as many opportunities through working with the local leaders, schools and families to provide relief and support to strengthen the culture of learning. We challenge the attitudes and systems that threaten to normalize illiteracy in Central America through our continued efforts and projects.

We also understand that learning becomes a natural ability for children, therefore through a joint relationship with schools in helping achieve healthy environments ,nourishment and basic necessities we can make a difference "One Child at a Time".
