School
Awards/ Teacher Grants/ Student scholarships partial and full:
School Awards & Grants for Teacher's; our cause has been in
effect for eight years, but now we want to expand and develop policies to reflect real time needs … We are looking to award scholarships to 20,000 students throughout Central America
this will assure that their education does not get interrupted by monetary needs
nor wants. We would also like to award under-funded schools
through grants to maintain the expenses of daily operations.
School Supplies:
For eight years now these monies and supplies have been
distributed, we want to continue to expand and develop policies to reflect
the real time needs and new methods of distribution.
We are working with schools helping them to provide healthy learning environments and basic tools such as required text books-
labs for science, training materials that support children in
their quest for learning self expression, self empowerment and
lastly to give an over all view of how they see themselves in their surroundings.
We include Art, Music, Film, Sports as well as the fundamental
skills as Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. We want to be able to
provide not only educational supplies, computers and basic furniture such as desks and chairs
but also materials to build and renovate schools that need it.
Mentor programs - Visiting Student Teachers & local participation volunteers:
This is a new project concept it is a very important part of the success
to our methodology, so much so that we want to expand it to next year and into
the next growing phase of CACEP's commitment. This will help us accomplish our goals by having a rotating volunteer staff on location in C.A., that will monitor our programs and be de facto Caseworkers. These volunteers will come from all
sorts of different countries and will be mentors for families, and student teachers in the Class rooms.
We will be developing acceptable contribution requirements as a way to offset costs and instill ownership into the project. This will be considered IN KIND donations.
These contributions will pay for volunteer lodging, and
supplement host families.
Tutoring programs/ after school programs:
To be staffed either by CACEP's Visiting Student Teachers
program (VST) or local teachers.
Build libraries in school:
Many schools do not have proper areas for study or may not
have places to seek remedial help some don't even have enough books to
read in their library. Our mission is simple. Develop, build and/or retrofit areas on school premises for libraries. These library spaces are perfect for after school
programs, and mentoring. Places that will offer the needed
materials to expand, grow and become liberated through
education.
Provide Computers:
Develop computer banks for schools; to create a methods of
distribution, and to place the computers back into the
educational system . This may be combined into a library work-study
area or computer labs.
Supporting nutritional programs in schools:
Many children come to school hungry, stay hungry and can’t learn
at all because of malnutrition. Our mission is to work with school's to implement successful breakfast menus
to keep the the children well nourished so that they may focus
on their goal, their education.
Putting first aid supplies in schools:
Medical insurance and facilities are usually not available. This is part of our mission
is to provide a safe learning environment.
